Services - Planning | | Orders of Service
We can arrange for personalised Order of Service sheets to be printed and will offer you different types available.These would be compiled in accordance with the family. |
| Newspaper Notices
Should you wish for a death or an acknowledgement notice to be inserted in a local or national newspaper, we would be pleased to submit them in the newspaper of your choice.
| | Flowers and Wreaths | If you wish us to arrange flowers on your behalf, we are of course pleased to do so.
However, most families when arranging their floral tributes would prefer to visit a local florist to choose a suitable design. Usually the floral tributes are sent at an appropriate time to the address where the funeral is to begin. | | Alternatively the main family tributes, or in fact, any other arrangements can be sent to our Chapel of Rest. All flowers will be carefully arranged on our vehicles and afterwards laid out at either the crematorium garden or on the grave at the cemetery. At the conclusion of the service we are pleased to remove all cards for floral arrangement. These are placed in our specially designed booklet and returned to the family as a record of all names and messages which can be kept in grateful memory.
Occasionally after a crematorium service we are requested to transfer floral tributes to either a nursing home, hospital or church on behalf of a family. This we are pleased to do and would attach a card indicating from whom they have been sent. |
| | Donations in Lieu of Flowers | | Requesting charitable donations in lieu of flowers is a popular choice for many families. The particular charity chosen may be close to the deceased's family and is an ideal opportunity to donate money in memory of the person and further their good cause. | | If you have a favourite charity, we will be delighted to coordinate and forward donations on your behalf, or if you are undecided about who should benefit, we can put you in touch with a number of very good causes both locally and nationally.. |

Services - On the Day | | Release a Dove | | For centuries doves have symbolised peace, and a dove is a living tribute to remember a life that has now passed. A single white dove symbolises the soul and spirit of a loved one.
An individual or indeed the entire family may release doves. This may take place at the graveside or at the conclusion of the service at the crematorium. | Each dove is trained to navigate its way back to its roost once it has been released. Doves can either be released by the handler or given to a family member for them to personally release.
However it is worth remembering that severe weather conditions may prevent the doves being released. |
| In Loving Memory Photography
Keep a sensitive and discreet record of a funeral that will help reflect a loved ones life.Capture the splendour of a horse drawn carriage; the ceremony of the limousines decked with flowers, and the beautiful floral tributes with their messages of love.
'In Loving Memory' photography have created records for families after their loved ones have passed away. If anything specific is required they will liaise with you beforehand and will work discreetly from a distance on the day.
We are happy to put you in touch with 'In Loving Memory' if you require their services.
| Catering and Refreshments
To arrange refreshments and catering following a funeral service can, to many families, be a burden.
We are therefore pleased to have formed an association with Impulse Catering Service, a respected catering company who are able to look after all forms of refreshments, whether they be of a simple or elaborate nature. Impulse are totally reliable, reasonably priced, and many families have found them to be a great help at such a time. Within our folder there is a pamphlet outlining the different types of menus and services available. | | | Should you wish for a reception to be held at a place other than your home residence and are unsure where to go we would be pleased to suggest suitable venues such as The Cranleigh in Hornchurh. |

Services - Other Areas | | Repatriation | | Our repatriation service is offered worldwide to enable bereaved families to transfer their loved one’s from or to any part of the world.
West & Coe have many year’s experience liaising with different Embassies on behalf of deceased relatives, and are fully aware of the complex documentation systems which apply to differing countries. | Normally the documentation required before transportation must include the following:- A death certificate;
- A copy of the deceased’s passport;
- A certificate from the coroner granting permission for the deceased to be taken out of the country;
- Confirmation of acceptance from the consignee;
- A non-infection certificate;
- A letter from the funeral director stating the coffin or casket only contains the deceased;
- An embalming certificate.
| Distance Funerals
We are often asked to arrange funerals in other parts of the country, especially by families for whom we have carried out funerals for in the past. Although at times we may have to liaise with another local, independent family owned Funeral Director, you have our assurance that all arrangements will be thoroughly supervised by members of our staff, so as to ensure our normal high standards are maintained. | | | Will Writing and Administration
Besides the immediate funeral arrangements there are additional longer term considerations, such as the paperwork and formalities of the deceased person’s estate or the preparation of a new will.
It may be that you will be engaging a solicitor to take care of these affairs. If however you are going to look after the affairs yourself and need help, (Wills & Probate Services) Limited would be able to assist you. | | Their expertise has already helped many of our clients to get through this potential minefield, quickly, efficiently and effectively. |
| Thank You Cards
All of our office offers a full range of memorial and thank you cards. Generally they are printed with personal details and can include a photograph of the deceased. Printing time is usually around two weeks.
